Six Fireworks Nights Highlight 2011 Promotional Schedule

The Amsterdam Mohawks are pleased to announce a full lineup of "added attractions" as the Mohawks are set to go for their 3rd consecutive league championship in their first season in the fledgling Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. The Mohawks 2011 home schedule will be expanded from 21 games in 2010 to 26 this season.

Six fireworks will highlight the 2011 Promotional Schedule, two in June and four more in July as the season, the Mohawks and the weather are sure to heat up! Fireworks dates are June 11, 24 and July 1, 3, 15, and 29.

You can bring your DOG to the Park on July 19th or "pick up" some cash at our $5000 cash scramble on July 8th as four lucky fans will dash for the 5k in cash right on the infield. Need a car' Our Grand Slam Car Giveaway is July 27th where if a Mohawk hits a Grand Slam, a lucky fan will walk away with a new car.

One Thirsty Thursday is "on tap" for July 7th with beer prices at a recession busting buck. Even better, is the free ice cream we'll hand out on July 12th.

Our local Heroes will be honored on July 31st and The Road to Ground Zero Flag Tour, featuring the US Military All Stars and where the 9/11 flag will be on display at Shuttleworth Park, makes a stop on July 24th in a must see patriotic event. The tour culminates on 9/11 at Ground Zero.

We'll head for The Beach at the Ballpark on July 22nd and dress up for Halloween a bit early on July 26th. Players'' from both area Chambers of Commerce will suit up and square off in a pregame softball challenge on June 28th in the First Annual Montgomery vs Fulton County Chamber Softball Cup.

Bring a book to donate on June 17th and get in free plus learn about the history of Amsterdam's Sanford Stud Farm. If camping outside is your cup of tea then June 17th is also your night as we stage our first Family Camp Out at Shuttleworth. So be sure to bring your tent and sleeping bag. Bring a food item to donate on August 2nd and get in free again. If getting in free is your thing then wear the colors of your favorite MLB team on July 25th and you're in as our guest. Speaking of MLB, former Reds and Red Sox star Bernie Carbo will visit Shuttleworth on July 19th.

PARKFEST 2011 is set for July 15th and 16th and promises to be the biggest one ever featuring rides, games, food and fun for everyone, with fireworks on the 15th.

Two jersey auctions are scheduled. On July 16th we'll do our small part in the fight against cancer by donning special purple uniforms. And not be outdone by the US Military All Stars the Mohawks will wear patriotic red, white, and blue on July 24th vs. the All Stars.

PS-Almost forgot that after every TUESDAY home game kids can run the bases and play catch on the field after the game. And speaking of kids, over 1000 area elementary school students will visit Shuttleworth Park for a 10:30 AM field trip game on June 16 to watch the Mohawks in action as part of Traffic Safety Day.
