Sioux Falls' Dave Joerger Edges Out Gary's Jaren Jackson for February CBA Coach of the Month Honors

Boise, ID (March 1, 2006) - The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Sioux Falls Skyforce Head Coach Dave Joerger has been named the League Coach of the Month for the month of February. It marks the first time this season he has earned the honor.
Joerger, who is in his fifth CBA season, led Sioux Falls to a 9-1 record (90.0 pct.) during February, including its current season-best eight-game winning streak. Sioux Falls averaged 5.05 quarter points per game to push its way into first place in the Western Conference ahead of the Yakama Sun Kings. The Skyforce currently have a record of 27-16 with a 4.05 quarter-point average.
Sioux Falls was perfect on the road in February at 3-0 while it went 6-1 at Sioux Falls Arena, improving its home record to a CBA-best 18-3 (85.7 pct.) for the season. The Skyforce have captured 11 of its last 12 games overall, rebounding from a 6-6 stretch that lasted from late December into January.
Joerger is one victory away from his 150th CBA win, currently sitting at 149-78 (.656 pct.) for his career. His 149 wins rank him 18th all-time in the CBA while his .656 winning pct. ranks him fourth all-time, just ahead of Flip Saunders (.649 pct.) and behind Eric and Bill Musselman (.689 pct.).
Joerger just edged out Gary Steelheads coach Jaren Jackson for February honors. Jackson led his Steelheads to a 10-3 record during last month, including a franchise-tying record of nine-consecutive victories to begin the month. However, Sioux Falls defeated Gary on Feb. 22, 128-122, in overtime.
