Single Game Ticket Sales Start Tuesday for January Tropics Games, Available at Team's Facebook Page

LAKELAND, Fla. - Single game tickets for January home games of The Florida Tropics Presented by Bond Clinic will be available for public sale starting December 23. The Tropics, defending Eastern Conference champions, will start their fifth season in the Major Arena Soccer League next month.

Tickets will be available online by going to the team's Facebook page, and clicking on the event link for the game fans wish to purchase tickets for. Tickets are also available by calling the team office at 863-240-0101.

So far, the MASL has only released a January schedule because of the changing nature of local restrictions around the country because of ongoing Coronavirus outbreak. The league has announced dates which include six teams participating in a total of 14 games during the month of January, with additional teams to be added in February as pandemic conditions allow.

The St. Louis Ambush, Kansas City Comets, Dallas Sidekicks, San Diego Sockers, Tacoma Stars and Tropics have all committed to dates in January. Teams must play a minimum of 12 games, and can play up to a maximum of 24 games, in order to qualify for the post season. Seedings will be based on overall winning percentage.

The regular season will run through the middle of April, with a playoff format to be announced later in the year.

The Tropics and RP Funding Center, using CDC and state guidelines, have come up with a socially-distanced and safe seating arrangement that will allow approximately 1,800 fans per game to attend each home match.

Florida, will host the St. Louis Ambush on Jan. 2 (5:05 p.m. start) and Jan. 3 (3:05 start), followed by a visit from the Kansas City Comets on Jan. 8 (7:05 p.m.) and Jan. 10 (3:05 p.m.) The five-game season opening homestand will conclude Jan. 16 with as the Tropics host the Dallas Sidekicks. The team will finish January with road contests in St. Louis on Jan. 29 and Jan.31.

The team returns it's top seven scorers from last season - Ricardo Carvalho, Victor Parrieras, Zach Reget, Guilherme, Drew Ruggles, Joey Tavernese, Amtonio Manfut and Lucio Gonzaga - while adding MASL superstar Ian Bennett from the Wave, and signing free agent defender Chad Vandegriffe (Milwaukee) as well. Goalkeeper Hugo Silva, who was tops in the league in goals against average last year (4.14) also return.
