Florida Tropics SC News Release
LAKELAND, Fla. - Two Florida Tropics players -- goalkeeper Hugo Siva and captin Victor Parreiras -- have been picked for MASL Team of the Week honors for Week three of the Major Arena Soccer League season.
Silva was an obvious choice in goal, after posting the first shutout of the season, and first-ever at home for the Tropics in an 8-0 win over the Dallas Sidekicks last weekend. He lowered his league-leading goals against average to 3.34, and also leads the league in saves percentage (.785) and wins (5).
Parreiras now leads the league in assists with seven after his four-assist performance against Dallas.
The Tropics sit atop the MASL standings at 5-0, and will play next on the road Jan. 29 and 31 in St. Louis.
