LAFAYETTE, La. (June 6, 2006) -- The Louisiana Swashbucklers stuffed Acadiana Mudbugs quarterback Bo Bartik on a late fourth down and goal to preserve the victory.

It was the third time this season Louisiana (6-1) has beaten the Mudbugs (3-3).

The Swashbucklers won the first two games by identical 56-35 scores.

Louisiana took the lead for good on Marcus Wilridge's second touchdown pass of the game with 2:22 remaining in the third quarter.

Alvin Bartie finished with three touchdown passes for Louisiana. Kirt Duhomn rushed for the other.

Bartik threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 46 yards and one score for the Mudbugs, who led 9-6 after one quarter and 21-20 at halftime.

CONQUERORS 34, PIRATES 20

HOUMA, La. (June 6, 2006) -- Omar Haughbook threw three touchdown passes -- two to Clevan White as the Houma Conquerors posted their first victory of the season by downing the Texas Pirates.

The Conquerors (1-5) blew open a 14-14 halftime game with Haughbook's touchdowns of 30 to Gerald Landry and 40 to White that made it 27-14.

Texas (1-4) closed to 27-20 on Trumain Dorsey's 25-yarder to Joe Townsend with 11:33 remaining, but Houma used a 15-yard Haughbook to White score to conclude the scoring.

Two Michael Burks 1-yard runs gave Houma an early 12-0 lead.

Texas took its only lead when Danny Newphew returned a Conqueror fumble 15 yards to give the Pirates a 14-12 lead with 2:20 remaining in the first half, but the Conquerors quickly tied the game again when they returned the 2-point conversion back and scored two points of their own.

TURFCATS 71, CRUNCH 15

AUSTIN, Tex. (June 6, 2009) -- Deron Ellis threw four touchdown passes and rushed for two more as the Austin Turfcats defeated the North Texas Crunch 71-15 in a Southern Indoor Football League game Saturday night.

Keith Clay, Darrick Wallace and Robert Quiroga each scored twice for the Turfcats, who won their fifth consecutive game.

One of Wallace's touchdowns came on a missed field goal, his fourth such score of the season.

Austin (5-1) led 19-0 at the first quarter and 29-9 at halftime, but put up 35 points in the third period.

Ellis was just 6-16 for 57 yards passing, but managed the four touchdowns -- two to Quiroga and one each to Wallace and Nick Lewis. He also rushed for 33 yards.

Clay rushed for 46 yards on nine carries for the Turfcats.

Making their SIFL debut as the league's travel team, North Texas got a touchdown run from former TCU star Ricky Madison and James Wilson's 8-yard pass to Guy Fernandez. John Bryant kicked a 33-yard field goal.
