
SIFL Names Players of the Week
June 15, 2011 - Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) News Release
LAKE CHARLES, La. - The Southern Indoor Football League has named its Players Of The Week for the final week of the 2011 regular season.
OFFENSE: Josh Smith, Columbus Lions and Carlos Alsup, Houston Stallions. Caught 8 passes for 101 yards and 3 TDs as the Lions concluded the regular season with a win over Carolina. Alsup rushed for two TD, including the go-ahead score in the Stallions' win over Louisiana.
DEFENSE: Demetrius McCray and Levan Richmond, Albany Panthers. Both had three interceptions, with Richmond registering a pick six as the Panthers downed Alabama to clinch the East's second seed.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Geoff Boyer, Albany Panthers. Boyer's second FG of the night was a rare drop-kick 4-pointer to help Albany seal the victory.
Each upcoming playoff game will feature an offensive, defensive and special teams player.
