Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO - Feb. 9, 2015 - The Orlando Predators announced Monday that Siaha Burley will return for his second season as the team's Offensive Coordinator in 2015. In his first season with the Preds, Burley guided a unit that ranked first in the Arena Football League with 5,384 total offensive yards.

"We are pleased that the continuity of the coaching staff that helped us reach the American Conference Championship in 2014 will remain intact," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "Coach Burley brings an exciting and creative approach to offensive play calling. We are looking forward to watching him work with and get the most out of a talented group of offensive players this year."

In 2014, Burley produced the AFL's most explosive passing offense as the unit averaged a League-best 13.1 yards per completion. Orlando ranked third in the AFL with 133 total touchdowns on the year and was the League's fourth-most efficient passing attack. Under Burley's tutelage, first-year wide receiver Greg Carr earned Second-Team All-Arena honors and was named the AFL's Rookie of the Year after racking up 113 receptions for 1,425 yards and 36 scores.

"It's great to have the opportunity to build on what we accomplished last year, both as a team and as an offense," Burley said. "With the staff returning along with key players, we have a foundation of success already established. I'm eager to get started and looking forward to showing our fans this team's great potential."

During his college career at the University of Central Florida, Burley was the favorite target of quarterback Daunte Culpeper. He led the team in receiving during each of his last two seasons and still holds a UCF single-game record with 266 receiving yards versus Louisiana-Lafayette in 1998. Burley currently ranks in the top 10 on UCF's all-time record lists in both receptions and receiving yardage.

Burley entered the Arena Football League with the Orlando Predators in 2001 and was named to the AFL All-Rookie team. Over the course of his nine-year career, he would go on to accumulate 843 receptions for 10,810 yards and 247 touchdowns. Burley was twice named the AFL's Offensive Player of the Year. His most successful season came in 2007, when he set numerous League records after registering 166 receptions for 2,129 yards and 49 touchdowns with the Utah Blaze.

The Orlando Predators 2015 season opener against the Philadelphia Soul is scheduled for 7:00pm on Sunday, March 29 at the Amway Center in downtown Orlando. Tickets are available for purchase by calling 844-455-PRED (7733).
