Harrisburg Horizon News Release

HARRISBURG-May 8, 2004...The stat sheet will show that Mike Shue scored 27 points against the Philadelphia Power on Saturday. But stats never tell the whole story. After an off-season wrist injury caused the Harrisburg guard two miss two games, Shue came back for the season finale to lead the Horizon to a 122-89 victory over Philadelphia.

Shue's return helped forward Kevin Rowe return to his early season form. Rowe scored 23 points, including 4 three-pointers, and was able to get free on the perimeter as Shue contained defenders by posting up inside. Shue also had a good night from beyond the arc with 3 three-pointers. The game was a blowout almost from the beginning. Though Philadelphia cut an early 10-point lead to 20-16, Harrisburg managed to pull ahead by 18 early in the second quarter. Harrisburg turned it up a notch in the second half and led by at least 20 most of the way.

Guard Chris Rodgers and Forward Ed Moore both had 19 points to lead Philadelphia. Forward Jamal Palmer finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds for Harrisburg. It was a season-long struggle for Shue and his injured wrist, which was broken in a motorcycle accident last summer. Shue played in the first five games of the season, but looked to be done for the season after re-aggravating the injury against Philadelphia on April 10.

But Shue said the wrist felt good during a recent pick-up game and decided to return for Harrisburg's season finale. His return sparked his teammates, who lost their only game of the season to Brooklyn in Shue's absence.

The Horizon finished the season 8-1 and have owned the EBA's best regular season record for the past three seasons.
