Showtime in Suwanee

April 12, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Atlanta Vision News Release

"Showtime in Suwanee" is what the Gwinnett Gwizzlies are calling the arrival of free agent Bryant Lightsey, a 6'9" point guard to the Gwizzlies Summer Pro League Tryouts at Suwanee sports academy starting April 21.

Marcus Hammonds, the Gwizzlies advance scout, recruited the 25 year old who played one year at Kansas State. Already the Gwizzlies have a 7'4" center in John Flippen and now maybe a 6'9" point guard, which would make its lineup one of the biggest in Pro basketball worldwide. The scouting report on Bryant Lightsey gives all indication that it will be "Showtime in Suwanee" next week.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
