Series Notes:

-Fort Wayne's power play has scored in six of the last eight games going 11 for 32 over that stretch (34%). The Komets are 5 for 16 in the Finals.

-Mike Vaskivuo scored a goal (penalty shot) in the first minute of Game 4 extending his point streak to six games (four goals and eight assists during streak). Vaskivuo leads all players with 22 points (9-13=22) in the playoffs.

-Fort Wayne is the fifth CHL team to grab a 3-0 series lead in the Finals and the first since the 2008 Arizona Sundogs. Three times in the previous four chances, the team with the 3-0 lead ended up sweeping the series and all four previous cases, the team with the advantage won the Cup.

-In 20 previous situations in the CHL playoffs, a team has taken a 3-0 series lead and in 13 of those cases the result was a sweep. The Komets 3-0 lead over the Thunder marks the second time in this year's post-season that a team had had such an advantage as the Missouri Mavericks swept away the Evansville IceMen in the Opening Round.

-Matt Summers has caught fire at the right time for the Thunder scoring three goals in his last two games. Summers led Wichita during the regular season with 61 points.

-Chris Auger scored a goal on Saturday night extending his point streak to six games. He leads all skaters with 10 goals in the post-season and is second with 21 points (10-11=21).

-Thomas Beauregard has five points (3-2=5) in the Finals leading the way for Wichita. He has moved up to third in post-season scoring with 18 points (7-11=18). Beauregard scored his first game winner of the playoffs in the third period of Saturday's 4-3 win.

-After review, R.G. Flath was credited with the first period goal originally prescribed to Daniel Tetrault. For Flath, it ended a six-game goalless drought. He had eight goals in the first eight games of the post-season. Tetrault still had two assists for the Thunder in the game.

-Matt Robinson scored 34 goals during the regular season and was one of five finalists for the league MVP award but in the post-season, he has been slowed scoring just twice in 15 games. He has yet to score in the Finals.

-Forward Stephon Thorne has recorded assists in three straight games in the Finals and is a +2 over that stretch.

-Colin Chaulk's stretch of three straight multiple-point games ended on Saturday when he was held without a point and was a -1 for the game. Chaulk has 17 points in the post-season.

This Date in Playoff History (May 7, 2008)

On this day in 2008, the Arizona Sundogs went on to beat the Colorado Eagles 5-2 in Game 3 of the Championship Round. The Sundogs went on to win the Presidents' Cup in a four-game sweep earning their first and only championship in franchise history. Mark Kolanos went on to score a hat-trick, as well as notch the game winner and push his team one win closer to the Cup. Also, goaltender Rob McVicar made 51 saves while turning away all six power play chances for the Eagles.
