LINE 2Series Notes
-The Mudbugs won their second OT game in five playoff chances on Thursday night evening the series at two wins apiece. Jeff Kyrzakos scored his CHL post-season best 11th goal just about five minutes into the extra session. Kyrzakos leads all players with six power play goals as well.
-In back-to-back games, the team leading heading into the final period has lost the game as Bossier-Shreveport led 2-0 after 40 minutes in Game 3 eventually falling 4-2 and Colorado led 4-3 heading into the final period in Game 4 falling in overtime, 5-4. In the post-season, the Mudbugs are 9-1 when leading after two periods and the Eagles are 5-3.
-Eagles head coach Chris Stewart is one of just two coaches to win a CHL Championship with two different teams (Colorado and Huntsville) and is looking to equal Doug Shedden (Wichita and Memphis) with four CHL Championships. Stewart currently has three titles winning with Colorado in 2005 and 2007 and with Huntsville in 2000.
-Eagles rookie forward Adam Chorneyko has had three straight multiple-point games coming off a two assist performance in Game 4. His two goals and four assists in his last three games has moved him into the league lead with 22 points (6-16=22). He is also a +9 in his last six games and a league-best +15 in the post-season.
-Colorado's Scott May scored his second shorthanded goal of the post-season in Game 4 and has helped the Eagles to a league-best four shorthanded goals.
-Both Bossier-Shreveport and Colorado have moved their penalty kills up and over 86% during the post-season each holding the other scoreless in Game 4 with the Mudbugs going 0 for 6 and the Eagles going 0 for 4. Through for games, Colorado is 1 for 16 and Bossier-Shreveport is 2 for 23 with the man advantage.
-Mudbugs amateur forward Nathan Moon played in just his fourth post-season game in Game 4 and his second game of the Finals and he came through scoring his first professional goal and earning his first professional point. Moon was in the line-up partly due to the one-game suspension to Mudbugs forward David Rutherford.
-Kevin Ulanski leads all skaters in the series with seven points (3-4=7).
-Amateur Nick Layton is currently on a seven-game point streak scoring three goals with five assists over his streak. Allen's Dave Bonk has the longest playoff point streak at nine games.
