Three Things You Need to Know

1.) Tulsa Turing it On- The Tulsa Oilers (15-27-3) have had their struggles this season but not this past week as the Oilers won all three of their games with their offense scoring 15 times. Forwards Ben Gordon, Ryan Menei and Drew Fisher have been fueling the firepower with Gordon scoring six points (1-5=6) in Friday's win over Missouri and Menei scoring a hat trick in Saturday's shootout win over Wichita. Over the three game win streak, Gordon has two goals and eight assists, Menei has seven goals and four assists and Fisher has four goals and two assists. The Oilers will look for four in a row when they host Rapid City on Tuesday night.

2.) Sundogs Turning the Corner- The Arizona Sundogs (21-20-4) have responded after their head coach David Lohrei resigned last week by winning back-to-back road games in Allen and Fort Worth. The Sundogs have won three straight games overall and with both their wins in Texas over the weekend coming by a 2-1 count. The Sundogs have won by just one goal in each of their last five wins. The Sundogs have yet to name a replacement for Lohrei but injured player Jeff Kyrzakos has guided the team for both their wins. Arizona is in a three-way tie for sixth place with 46 points with a date Tuesday in Denver next on the docket.

3.) Brahmas Hit the Road- The Fort Worth Brahmas (24-15-5) will become very familiar with life on the road in coming weeks as they start a five-game road trip on Tuesday night in Allen. The Brahmas will then head to Denver for two games and Arizona for two. Fort Worth will be playing 10 of their next 13 games away from home where they are a league-best 16-4-5. On the road, the Brahmas are 8-11-0. Recent signing, Greg Eskedjian, has been a solid pick-up for the team scoring six points (2-4=6) and a +6 plus/minus rating in 10 games.

By the Numbers

5: The current point streak of the Quad City Mallards who are 4-0-1 in their last five games after Saturday's road win in Missouri. The Flock is just outside the eight-team playoff picture trailing a trio of clubs by three points. Mickey Lang has held the hot hand recently with four goals and six assists in his last three games. Mike Hellyer has three goals and six assists with a +8 plus/minus rating over the last five games.

One-Timers

-After a 12-game road trip, the Denver Cutthroats were happy to be on home ice last weekend sweeping the Bloomington Blaze with a 4-2 win on Friday and a 3-1 win on Saturday. Kieran Millan stopped 75 of 78 shots in the two games.

-The Rapid City Rush will conclude their six-game road trip Tuesday in Tulsa looking to finish above .500 on the journey. The Rush are coming off back-to-back wins in Fort Worth and Allen and are 3-2-0 on their trip. The Rush have yet to win three straight games this season.

-The Thunder's power play has been on fire scoring eight times in their last 16 chances. They are at 21% on the season.

-After going 6-1-2 between Dec. 21 and Jan. 12, Missouri goaltender Mike Clemente has dropped four straight decisions allowing 18 goals over that span. On the season, the rookie is 16-9-3 with a 3.26 GAA.

-The Allen Americans slide has turned into a full-fledge slump as they have won just once since January 8th going 1-4-5 in their last 10 games. Allen still holds a one point lead in the Berry Conference with three games in hand over the second place Wichita Thunder. For the Americans, 11 of their last 12 games have been decided by one goal with three games being decided in overtime and two games going to a shootout.

-Denver's A.J. Gale had a goal and two assists this past weekend in wins over Bloomington moving him to 61 points (27-34=61) and into a tie for the top spot on the league's scoring list (Sebastien Thinel-61 points).

-The Wichita Thunder are 5-0-1 in their last six games scoring 31 times in those six games. Wichita is coming off a 5-4 shootout loss in Tulsa on Saturday night but did earn a point as Neil Trimm scored with 1:01 remaining in regulation to tie the game.
