Shooting Starz to debut at ABA championship playoffs

Published on February 19, 2006 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) and ABA Entertainment today announced that its nationwide talent search, SHOOTING STARZ, would debut at the ABA Championship Playoffs in March to be held in Rochester, NY. According to Angela Rizzi, ABA VP of Entertainment, "We couldn't think of a better place or time to launch this exciting new program. There is a tremendous amount of great young entertainment talent other than those featured on American Idol or Nashville Stars. And we intend to find the talent in a series of SHOOTING STARZ events in ABA cities throughout the spring, summer and fall."

"We're looking for individuals, duets, groups, musicians in every genre from hip hop, rock, soul, country, pop," Ms. Rizzi added, "And we'll have record producers, record companies, agents, talent scouts and others on hand as judges and evaluators. This won't be a long drawn out process. If you have talent, it's time you were discovered."

Winners of SHOOTING STARZ competitions will perform at the ABA Championship Playoffs, ABA games as well as take part in STARZ IN MOTION, a nationwide tour featuring winners with top name artists as well as receiving recording contracts.
