Shooters Sign Rogue Valley Wranglers as Farm Team

DYER, IN -- The South Shore Shooters of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League announced today that they have formed a working affiliation with the Rogue Valley Wranglers Junior A hockey team of Medford, OR. The move comes after a week of talks between the two team Ownership groups and is the first of its kind in single "A" professional hockey.
Rogue Valley Wranglers play in the Northern Pacific Hockey League.
The Shooters will work closely with Rogue Valley in the development of Wrangler players in order to prepare them for a professional career in the MAHL. Shooters Coaches and staff will be attending Wranglers games and events in order to evaluate and track the progress of various players who may be ready to make the jump.
The affiliation will be mutually beneficial for both clubs as the Shooters will have first-hand access to fresh young talent and Wranglers players will gain direct exposure to the professional ranks.
Shooters President, Andrew Haines, is happy to announce that as part of the agreement Wranglers General Manager, Kevin Schwartz will assume the position of Director of Western U.S. Player Development for the Shooters. Schwartz will ensure that Wranglers players, along with other players in the Western U.S., will be prepared to play for the Shooters should they be called upon.
This unprecedented move should have an immediate positive impact on player recruitment for both Organizations.
