
Shock Waives Angelina Williams

Auburn Hills, MI- Detroit Shock Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Bill Laimbeer announced today that the team has waived Angelina Williams leaving the current Training Camp Roster at 14 players.
Detroit acquired Williams from the Phoenix Mercury on May 18, 2006 in exchange for the Shock's two 2007 third round draft picks. The Mercury originally drafted Williams in the second round (No. 18 overall) of the 2005 WNBA Draft.
In 2006 Williams played in 21 games, averaging 2.0 points, 0.6 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 6.3 minutes of action. During the 2006 playoffs, Williams played in seven games averaging 1.4 points and 0.6 rebounds while connecting on 41.7 percent (5-12) of her field goal attempts. Over her 37-game WNBA career, the 6-0 guard has averaged 2.2 points, 1.0 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.
Detroit Shock Training Camp opens on Sunday, April 22, and Media Day is tentatively scheduled for Monday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
