
Shock Waive Two, Trim Roster to 13 before Pre-Season Game

TULSA, Okla. (May 25, 2011) - The Tulsa Shock waived Italee Lucas and Juanita Ward, trimming their roster to 13 before traveling to Seattle for an exhibition game against the Storm this Sunday May 29.
The Shock selected Lucas in the second round (21st overall) in the 2011 WNBA Draft. In 2010-11, Lucas averaged 15.8 points on 43.3 percent shooting from the field while being named to the ACC All-Tournament team and second team All-ACC in her senior season at North Carolina.
After almost making the final roster in 2010, Ward was invited back to training camp in 2011 after having a successful season in Bulgaria that saw her win the Most Valuable and Defensive Player of the Year awards. Ward graduated from the University of Syracuse in 2010.
The Shock currently has 13 players on the roster. The deadline to trim the roster to 11 is June 2, 2011.
The Shock open the season on the road against San Antonio on June 4. The home opener against San Antonio is on June 10 at 7 p.m. at the BOK Center.
