Coincidentally Walker scored 14 points in that game as well - two she of her career high of 16 points set on July 12, 2002 vs. Minnesota. Walker was starting in place of Swin Cash who was placed in the Injured list to start the season as she continues to rehabilitate her left knee.
THIRTY-SOMETHING
The Connecticut Sun shot 30 free throws against the Shock Saturday afternoon - more than any Detroit opponent took in 2004. The Phoenix Mercury took 29 cracks at the charity stripe on September 1, 2004, but the last time any Detroit opponent took as many as 30 was on July 23, 2002 vs. Utah.
STILL STREAKING
Andrea Stinson played two minutes for the Shock on Saturday, scoring two points and grabbing two offensive rebounds as she extended her WNBA record consecutive games played streak to 255. Stinson started all 254 games in eight years in Charlotte, and had been tied with Teresa Weatherspoon (NY and LA) before Saturday's game.
