
Shock Partner with YWCA for the Girls on the Run 5K

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa Shock have partnered with the YWCA Tulsa to participate in Girls on the Run on Saturday, May 10. The event is a 5K run and Shock players, coaches and staff will be volunteering at the event as part of WNBA Cares Week.
The run begins at 8:00 a.m. at Mohawk Park, located at 5701 E 36th St N, Tulsa, OK 74115. WNBA Cares Week is an opportunity for teams across the WNBA to showcase their community service efforts as an organization.
Girls on the Run of Tulsa County (YWCA Tulsa) is in their second year of the program serving over 100 girls, and the run event was brought to Tulsa by the YWCA. Girls on the Run's mission is inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The vision of Girls on the Run is to envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
The Shock will be helping the girls with stretching exercises before the race, and working at water and cheer stations along the run route.
