Harrisburg Stampede News Release

HARRISBURG, PA (November 2, 2011) - Harrisburg Stampede's General Manager and Head Coach, Bernie Nowotarski announced today his first signing for the 2012 Season.

Former Quaker Valley High School Stand-Out and Shippensburg 1st Team All-Conference, James Anthony Rockymore has signed with the Stampede. My coaches are actively recruiting players from every corner of the Country and everywhere in between and "JRock" is a great start. Spending my football career as a DB, I know DB talent when I see it and JRock has it.

I have said it for years, the football talent in the PSAC is just outstanding. To begin our signing season off with a Shipp kid is just the start we were looking for, we couldn't ask for more. A 5'11" 190 DB with great hands, speed, size, footwork, hip work and hits like a charging bull. Most importantly we found a kid with the personality we look for. JRock is a people person and will easily become a Fan Favorite to the Herd's Fans.

James was first seen by our D-Line Coach Justin Coble. Justin spent this summer on the Chambersburg Cardinals staff, where he got to see James roam the secondary for the Cardinals. This is also the first signing of a Cardinal player since both teams announced late last week, a co-op with each other to look at, work with and possibly sign each-others players.

James currently lives in Sewickley, Pa and his home town is Pittsburgh. He is the son of James Rockymore, Marvin Howard and Dorothy Bailey. His proud God Parents are Peter and Tina D'Annibale. In his spare time James volunteers with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. James graduated from Shippensburg with a BS in Criminal Justice.

This is a player we are really excited about and we can't wait to get him on the field and see his talent shine, commented Nowotarski, and I have no doubt how the Community and his team mates will accept him.

Just a Reminder : Stampede Open-Try Out Sunday November 27 at In The Net, Registration starts at 8am and Work-Out is from 9am - 11:30am
