Northford, CT - Shenae Lundberg has signed a contract with the Connecticut Whale for the 2016-17 season, General Manager Lisa Giovanelli announced Friday. Lundberg and the Whale agreed to terms on a one-year, $15,000 contract.

Lundberg was traded to the Whale last season from the New York Riveters, with whom she played one game and posted a .875 SV%. Lundberg played two games with Connecticut and averaged a .902 SV% and 2.67 GAA over the entire season.

"Last year's team was able to create a great team atmosphere, which I was blessed to become a part of," said Lundberg. "I think that the girls returning, along with myself, will be able to continue that tradition and show the newbies how to be a part of a great organization."

"That, along with the new talent that will be coming on board, will allow us to do even better in the season and go even further in the playoffs," she continued. "Fins up!"

Restricted free agency began April 1 and lasted until April 30. Free agency began May 1 and lasts until July 31. The 2016 NWHL Draft is June 18.
