West Oahu CaneFires News Release

The Honolulu Sharks and West Oahu CaneFires played to a 5-5 tie in a Hawaii Winter Baseball game last night at Waipahu's Hans L'Orange Park.

Trailing 5-3 in the home half of the ninth inning, the Honolulu Sharks plated two runs and sent the contest into extra innings. After both squads failed to score in the tenth and 11th frames, the game was called due to a league rule which allows for 11 innings as the maximum length for a game.

The Sharks (3-5-1) pounded 18 hits, four of which came off the bat of Brandon Snyder who also drove in two runs and improved his batting average to .500. Teammate Austin Jackson added three hits, two RBIs and a run scored to help the Sharks' cause.

Anthony Hatch led the CaneFires (2-6-1) offense with four base knocks, an RBI and one run scored. Russell Mitchell added two hits and drove in two runs for West Oahu.

Both teams go at it again tomorrow at Hans L'Orange Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
