Shaddy Named to 2014 All-TCL Team at Catcher

The Texas Collegiate League has announced the winners of its annual awards and All-TCL Team for the 2014 season. Carson Shaddy of the Texas Marshals has been named to the All-TCL Team at catcher.

Shaddy, a redshirt freshman from the University of Arkansas, hit .271 on the year in 41 games and 140 at bats. The Marshal's backstop hit nine doubles, one triple, and two home runs. Shaddy led the Marshals in walks with 25. He drove in 13 runs, scored 25 runs, and stole nine bases.

Shaddy, who was the starting catcher for the North squad at the 2014 TCL All-Star Game, was in the top 10 in the TCL in doubles and walks. He also saw time in the outfield and at second base for the Marshals this season. Shaddy, a native of Fayetteville, Arkansas, still has four years of eligibility left at Arkansas after sitting out this past season as a freshman.
