
Seven Players Selected by Incoming Expansion Clubs in 2024 NWSL Expansion Draft, Presented by Ally

NEW YORK - Incoming expansion clubs Bay FC and Utah Royals FC continued building their respective rosters ahead of their inaugural NWSL campaigns, selecting a combined seven players as part of the 2024 NWSL Expansion Draft, presented by Ally on Friday.
Players selected through the process can be seen below.
In addition to tonight's expansion draft, both Bay FC and the Royals have added players to their rosters through free agency and offseason trades and will continue bolstering their team ledgers ahead of the 2024 season next month when the 2024 NWSL Draft , presented by Ally, kicks off on January 12 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

No. 1 Alyssa Malonson
Defender, OL Reign Alyssa Malonson spent 2022 season on loan in Norway. Malonson, the No. 20 overall pick in the 2021 NWSL Draft, was selected by the North Carolina Courage but elected to go back to Auburn, where she earned SEC Defender of the Year honors. OL Reign acquired her rights in 2022.
No. 2 Tess Boade
Forward, North Carolina Courage Tess Boade won the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup in 2022 and 2023 with the North Carolina Courage. The 24-year-old forward recorded a goal and two assists in the 2023 regular season.
No. 3 Rachel Hill
Forward, San Diego Wave FC Rachel Hill has played over 100 NWSL games in her career since being drafted out of Connecticut in 2017. The 28-year-old forward has recorded 15 goals and three assists in her NWSL career.
No. 4 Katelyn Rowland
Goalkeeper, North Carolina Courage Katelyn Rowland is a proven winner with four NWSL Championships and two Challenge Cup titles under her belt. She has a career regular season GAA of 1.117, the second best among all active NWSL goalkeepers.

Midfielder, San Diego Wave FC Sierra Enge was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft and scored two goals in 10 regular season matches with the Wave in her rookie season. The 23-year-old midfielder won the NCAA Championship with Stanford in 2019.

Forward, OL Reign Elyse Bennett recorded two goals and two assists across 21 regular season matches in 2023. Bennett, the seventh overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft, has played in the last two NWSL Championships, with the Kansas City Current in 2022 and OL Reign in 2023.
No. 2 Paige Monaghan
Forward, Racing Louisville FC Paige Monaghan was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 NWSL Draft, becoming the first player drafted from Butler University. The 27-year-old forward has recorded nine goals across 79 regular season matches in her career, including three goals in 2023.
