Harrisburg Senators News Release

Harrisburg, PA - The pressure of Opening Weekend has gotten to Harrisburg Senators team president Kevin Kulp! He is guaranteeing the Senators will win on opening night, Thursday April 7th, or he is not leaving the ballpark until they get their first win. He is so confident that this Senators team will win against the Bowie Baysox on Thursday, that when they do, he will celebrate by giving each fan a voucher for another game during opening weekend.

Several days ago, Kulp told his box office to "Sell tickets for the weekend!" They took him too literally and started selling a regularly priced ticket that was good for the entire 4-game weekend series for the price of opening night. Since the offer was made, the Senators will honor the deal.

The first 250 fans that call or come to the box office to purchase a ticket for the home opener and ask for this special deal, receive a free ticket in the same category for the games Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The offer is only good for 25 hours beginning today (Tuesday, April 5th) at 4:00 p.m. through Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. The 25-hour offer is good for box and field box tickets only.

All season long, the Senators are celebrating their 25th season since returning to the Eastern League in 1987. The opening weekend has something for everyone as the fun begins Thursday as the team takes on the Bowie Baysox at 7 p.m. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. when the first 5,000 fans will receive a free magnet schedule for the season sponsored by Roto Rooter and Gazebo Room Dressing. Friday is the return of last season's favorite promotion - Flatscreens and Fireworks presented by WINK and abc27. All adult fans may register to win a flatscreen TV each inning throughout the night, and then stay for a spectacular fireworks show after the game. Saturday the first 1,000 fans 13-and-older will receive a retro Senators hat just like they wore in the 1980s presented by Faulkner Honda, 93.5 WTPA and abc27. And Sunday is the return of Rite Aid Family Day presented by BOB 94.9 and The River.

Make your plans now to come see the Senators all weekend long. Especially plan to attend Thursday night's home opener to see if Kevin gets to go home!

The historic 25th season of Senators baseball opens on Thursday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. against the Bowie Baysox (Orioles). Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets are available by either going online at www.senatorsbaseball.com or by phoning the Senators at 717-231-4444.
