Semi-Final Pregame Notes

The New York Lizards are back home to host their first ever playoff game. The Lizards will face off against the Boston Cannons to fight for their place in the championship game. Earlier this season, New York defeated Boston two games in a row. The Lizards are hoping for the same results in the upcoming playoff game.

Week 15 Recap

The New York Lizards faced defeat against the Denver Outlaws in overtime with a final score of 15-14.

This game marked the end of the regular season putting the Lizards at 10-4 overall record.

Greg "Beast" Gurenlian went 16-30 for faceoff performance, a 53 percent total.

Rob Pannell and Matt Gibson each had a five-point game. Tommy Palasek and JoJo Marasco contributed with three points apiece. Kyle Hartzell and Paul Rabil each brought in two points.

Notable Moments of the Week

Greg "Beast" Gurenlian earned himself some attention this week with two awards for his performance in the 2015 regular season. Gurenlian received the USL/MLL Sportsmanship Player of the Year Award as well as FOAthlete of Year. "Beast" had an overall 73 percent faceoff win for the 2015 season as well as setting records for single-season faceoff wins, faceoff percentage, and ground balls.

Coaches' Notes

Head Coach Joe Spallina on Paul Rabil: "People have not seen the true 99 for the past month and a half. It's been more of a conditioning process to watch how hard he pushes himself. We're unleashing him this week; he'll be a completely different player."

When asked about the upcoming playoff game: "They want us, they're going to get us. We're going to get creative during this game."

In reference to the end of the season: "If we don't win a championship, this season is a failure in my opinion. It was expected for us to make the playoffs. This isn't an opportunity. It's a priority and an expectation."
