
Sedlak Scores Fifth Goal in Loss

ODENTON, MD- The Philadelphia Rebels (4-12-0-1, 9 pts) lost to the Maryland Black Bears (18-3-0-0, 36 pts) Saturday evening by a score of 4-2 to wrap up their weekend set.
The Rebels jumped on the board first with a David Deputy power-play goal, his fifth of the season. Soon after, Maryland tied the game with a Chrisitan Catalano short-handed goal. The first period would end with the two teams knotted up at one.
In the second, Catalano added his second short-handed goal of the game to break the tie and give the Black Bears a 2-1 lead. Dimitry Kebreau then added his 15th goal of the season to give Maryland a 3-1 lead. Maryland would carry that lead and the momentum into the second intermission.
Less than two minutes into the third period Connor Sedlak netted his fifth goal of the season on the power play to pull the Rebels within one. Philadelphia held the lead for about five minutes before Brad McNeil scored on the power play to push the Maryland lead back to two. Both teams traded opportunities the rest of the way, but the game would end with the score at 4-2.
The Rebels had nine power plays in the game but were only able to capitalize on two of them while also giving up two short-handed goals. Maryland was one of five on their power play opportunities.
The Rebels will look to bounce back as they head back home for another game against the Maryland Black Bears Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Hollydell Ice Arena. Admission is free for all fans and the game can be seen live on HockeyTV.
