CHICAGO (August 25, 2015) - Seattle Reign FC midfielder Kim Little was voted the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Player of the Week by the media for Week 19 of the 2015 NWSL season.
Little, 25, recorded her first ever NWSL hat trick as she carried the Reign to a 3-0 victory on the road against the Houston Dash on Friday night at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas.
The Aberdeen, Scotland native's first goal came in the 42nd minute as Little sent the ball past Houston Dash goalkeeper Erin McLeod with a pass from teammate Lauren Barnes, who found Little near the box.
Little brought the same energy into the second half as she blasted a shot across the goal and into the back of the net in the 74th minute of the match, giving the Reign a 2-0 lead. Her efforts wouldn't end there as she tested her luck in the final minutes of regulation by moving past four Dash players and chipping the ball over McLeod.
Currently, Little has the second most goals scored in the league with nine, four goals behind Washington Spirit forward Crystal Dunn who leads the league with 13 goals.
The University of Hertfordshire alum is the sixth all-time Reign FC player to be honored as the NWSL Player of the Week. Teammates Megan Rapinoe, Jessica Fishlock and Beverly Yanez received the award earlier this season during Weeks 1, 9 and 15, respectively.
Seattle Reign FC will return to action on Wednesday, August 26 at 10:00 p.m. ET the Boston Breakers at Moda Pitch at Memorial Stadium in Seattle, Wash.
The NWSL Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a selection of journalists that cover the league on a consistent basis.
