San Diego Seals News Release
The San Diego Seals fell to the Colorado Mammoth in Game 3 of the West Conference Finals on Saturday night at Pechanga Arena by a final score of 15-13 and were eliminated from the NLL Playoffs.
"It's obviously a heartbreaking way to end the season," said General Manager and Head Coach Patrick Merrill. "We have a really special group here and we're proud of this team. Tonight obviously didn't go the way we planned, but we have to give props to Colorado. They capitalized in the second half and that was the difference in the game. It's a heartbreaking loss."
The Seals' offensive was clicking early, scoring nine goals in the first two frames taking a four-goal lead into the locker room at the half. After a scoreless third quarter from San Diego, Colorado inched their way back to eventually take the lead that would seal the deal. A late fourth-quarter comeback attempt fell short with a challenge on the floor ruled no-goal to swing momentum the opponent's way.
Forward Wesley Berg led the Seals offensive with four goals and six points. Forwards Dane Dobbie, Zack Greer and Austin Staats each added a pair of goals, with forward Jeremy Noble contributing a team-high five assists. Goaltender Frank Scigliano made 34 saves in the game, while defenseman Patrick Shoemay buried his fourth playoff goal.
The Seals will return to Pechanga Arena for the team's fourth season this winter. The team is now accepting season ticket deposits for the 2022-2023 season. Place your deposit today at SealsLax.com.
