San Diego Seals News Release
The San Diego Seals announced today that the team has re-signed transition player Brandon Clelland. Fellow transition players Tyler Garrison and Joel Tinney, and forward Jay Carlson, also inked deals.
"We're filling out our roster for an exciting and competitive training camp," said General Manager and Head Coach Patrick Merrill. "I know they're all excited and ready to get down to San Diego."
Clelland has appeared in all but one game for San Diego in the team's brief history as its face-off man. He has a 49% face-off win percentage since joining the Seals, including a dominating night at 'the x' in Calgary where he finished with 15 face-off wins on 17 attempts. Clelland signed as a free agent ahead of the team's inaugural season after spending four seasons in Vancouver.
After stepping away from the game for a few years, Garrison re-signed in San Diego as a highly-sought-after free agent. Garrison is a five-year NLL veteran known as a speedy, goal-scoring transition player.
Tinney was traded to San Diego during the off-season after appearing in five games for the Georgia Swarm during the 2018-19 NLL season. Carlson re-signed with the Seals after finding success in the outdoor game as one of the purest goal scorers.
