SD Loyal Announces 2021 Preseason Schedule, Training Camp Begins

San Diego, CA - Today, San Diego Loyal SC (SD Loyal) announced their 2021 preseason schedule, which includes exhibitions against Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders FC. All matches are in preparation for the club's second-ever regular season kicking off in May 2021 at Torero Stadium.

"We've been waiting many months to get back on the field and start the process towards having a successful sophomore season," said Landon Donovan, EVP of Soccer Operations and Manager. "We are extremely excited to see all the familiar faces that helped us build Team 1 and are looking forward to integrating our new additions. 2021 will prove to be a fantastic year for San Diegans and San Diego Loyal and we can't wait to get started!"

In addition, SD Loyal announces the beginning of training camp with players reporting to Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center (CVEATC), a U.S. Olympic and Paralympic training site with state-of-the-art sports venues, on March 8 presented by Chosen Foods. The facility will host a handful of SD Loyal's preseason matches, as well as Loyal Select's home matches, the club's new youth development program.

2021 Preseason Match Schedule Presented by Chosen Foods:

March 13 - Cal United Strikers FC at 10:00 am

March 20 - LA Galaxy* at 12:00 pm

March 27 - Opponent TBD

April 3 - New Mexico United at 12:00 pm

April 11 - Seattle Sounders* at 12:00 pm

April 17 - Cal State Fullerton at 3:00 pm

*Matches will take place at Dignity Sports Health Park in Carson, CA. All other matches are scheduled for the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. All times are PST.

All dates and times are subject to change. Preseason matches may be added at any time. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, preseason matches will be closed to the public. Media interested in attending these matches must contact a member of SD Loyal's communications team at media@sdloyal.com.
