Scott Rodgers Named MLL Warrior Defensive Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, OH - Major League Lacrosse today announced that Ohio Machine goalie Scott Rodgers has been named the Warrior Defensive Player of the Week for Week 8.

Rodgers made a season-high 19 saves in a 16-9 victory at Charlotte on Thursday. He faced 27 shots on goal and allowed just eight goals, including one two-pointer. Rodgers' 19 saves are his most since April 26, 2014, when he made 23 stops at Charlotte.

Rodgers has totaled 64 saves in his last four games, an average of 16 saves per game. He leads the league in goals-against average (10.54) and save percentage (.580).

The Defensive Player of the Week award is the fourth of the season for Ohio. Goalie Adam Fullerton earned the honor in Week 1, LSM Brian Karalunas won it in Week 4, and close defenseman Jackson Place earned it in Week 5. Attackman Marcus Holman was named the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week in Week 3.

Ohio returns to action this Saturday, June 18, when they host the Atlanta Blaze at Panther Stadium on the campus of Ohio Dominican University. The game begins at 4:30pm and will be streamed live on Lax Sports Network. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by visiting here:
