Machine Earn League-High Seven All-Star Nominations

COLUMBUS, OH - Major League Lacrosse today announced the event roster for the 2016 MLL All-Star Game, and the Ohio Machine earned a league-high seven nominations. Peter Baum, Marcus Holman, Brian Karalunas, Jackson Place, Greg Puskuldjian, Scott Rodgers, and Tom Schreiber were selected to represent the Machine in Fullerton, CA. The game will be held on Saturday, July 9, at Titan Stadium on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. It will be televised live exclusively on CBS Sports Network at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Baum, a midfielder from Colgate, has earned an All-Star nod in each of his three seasons in Major League Lacrosse. He ranks second on the team and tied for fifth in the league in goals (19), while ranking third on the team and ninth MLL in points (26). He leads the Machine and is second in the league in shots on goal (41), and is second on the team and sixth in MLL in shots (57). Baum is one of just nine players in the league with two or more two-point goals scored in 2016.

Holman earned his third consecutive All-Star nomination. The attackman from North Carolina leads the league in goals scored (28) and shots (68), while ranking tied for second in points (37). He has scored at least two goals in every game this season, and totaled 11 goals in two games from May 8-14. Holman recorded season highs in goals (6) and shots (13) in a 22-10 victory against New York on May 14. He earned the league's Warrior Offensive Player of the Week award in Week 3.

Karalunas has now earned an All-Star nomination in six of his seven years in the league. A Villanova graduate and current student at Stanford Law School, the long-stick midfielder ranks fourth in MLL in caused turnovers with 11, and ranks second on Ohio in ground balls with 23. Karalunas was named the league's Warrior Defensive Player of the Week in Week 4.

Place, a close defenseman from Bucknell, earned his first All-Star selection. In Week 4, Place held last year's scoring champion, New York's Rob Pannell, to just one goal and one assist. In Week 5, he held the league's fourth leading scorer, Boston's Will Manny, without a goal and just one assist and three shots on goal. Manny entered the contest averaging 6.75 points and six shots on goal per game. He tallied 10 points in his previous game before being held to just one by Place. The third-year defenseman earned MLL Warrior Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 5.

Puskuldjian leads the league in ground balls with 63, 10 ahead of last year's MLL MVP, Greg Gurenlian of New York. A faceoff specialist in his second season out of Adelphi, Puskuldjian has won 115-of-241 faceoffs this season. The All-Star selection is the first of his career.

Rodgers, a seven-year veteran from Notre Dame, has been named an All-Star for the first time in his career. He leads the league in wins (5), goals-against average (10.54), and save percentage (.580). Rodgers has totaled 64 saves in his last four games, an average of 16 saves per game. He made a season-high 19 stops in a 16-9 victory at Charlotte on June 9 to earn MLL Warrior Defensive Player of the Week honors for Week 8.

Schreiber has been named an All-Star in each of his three seasons in the league. The midfielder from Princeton leads the league in points (39) and assists (25). He has recorded 10 more assists than Rochester's Ned Crotty, who ranks second in the league in the category. Schreiber earned nine points (2g, 7a) on May 14 against New York in a 22-10 victory. He has recorded three or more assists in five of eight games in 2016.

Ohio returns to action this Saturday, June 18, when they host the Atlanta Blaze at Panther Stadium on the campus of Ohio Dominican University. The game begins at 4:30pm and will be streamed live on Lax Sports Network. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by visiting here:
