Scarborough Shooting Stars Sign Nick Lewis

The Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Wednesday that they have signed Nick Lewis. The Scarborough native played this season for Manchester of the British Basketball League where he averaged 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.7 steals in 30 minutes per game through 36 games.

The 6-foot-3 guard is a nine year pro with a career average 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 24.1 minutes per game over 288 games. A British Basketball League vet, Lewis played the majority of his career for Sheffield before he signed with Manchester for the 2022-23 season. Over the past two seasons, Lewis played in 5 BBL-Cup games for Manchester averaging 13 points, 3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 31.2 minutes per game.

The Shooting Stars return four players from last year's championship team including the CEBL all-time leading scorer Cat Barber, Kalif Young, Danilo Djuricic and Kyree Walker. Lewis joins new additions Hason Ward, Jaden Campbell, Jackson Rowe, Kadre Gray and 2024 CEBL draft picks Koat Thomas and Davante Hackett on the Shooting Stars 2024 roster.

The reigning CEBL Champions open training camp May 15. They begin their season on the road at the Canada Life Centre on May 24 where they tip-off against the Winnipeg Sea Bears. Scarborough welcomes the Niagara River Lions to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre on June 1 for their home opener and championship banner drop.
