Savannah Storm Names New Head Coach

Savannah, GA. The expansion ABA Savannah Storm that begins play in December today announced that Arekia Donta Humphries has been named Head Coach. "Areka is no stranger to the game of basketball," stated team owner Anthlony Dooley. "He was a four year starter at Statesboro High School and led the team to the state playoffs four consecutive years. He earned second-team All State and first team All Region before moving onto Georgia Southern University with an academic scholarship and was a two year starter."

"For his junior and senior years, he attended Armstrong Allantic State University where he started both years and as a point guard, helped the Pirates to a 25-8 recrecord and 15-1 in the conference. He has coached at Windsor Forest High School (girl's basketball) and is currently involved with the AAU where he helps young students refine basketball skills in the hopes of ultimately pursuring a college degree," added Dooley. "We believe he is the perfect fit for our organizaton and will help us to be very competitive in a very tough division."
