Published on October 3, 2008 under Canadian Football League (CFL) News Release

Toronto, ON (October 3, 2008) - Saskatchewan, BC and Calgary have the early lead in total team votes in the 2008 Future Shop CFL All-Star Fan Balloting program, the Canadian Football League announced today. More than 300,000 votes have already been cast with five weeks remaining on the regular season schedule. Fans can continue to vote for the divisional all-stars until the final game of the season on November 1.

The all-stars will be selected on the basis of a combined vote from fans, the Football Reporters of Canada and CFL coaches. Fans are limited to one vote per day and can vote for as many positions as they wish.

Fans from all CFL markets are called on to vote for their favourite players. Fans can vote by logging on to www.cflallstars.com or www.futureshop.ca/cflallstar.

The program also offers fans the chance to enter the CFL Future Shop All-Star Balloting contest, with prizes including a grand prize trip for two to the 96th Grey Cup in Montreal where the contest winners will get the chance to meet select CFL all-stars at the Grey Cup game. Other prizes include CFL merchandise and Future Shop gift cards.

Last season, the CFL and Future Shop teamed-up to give fans the first-ever opportunity to vote for the division and CFL all-star teams.

The East Division and West Division all-star teams will be announced on Monday, November 3, 2008. From the divisional all-stars, fans will then have a second opportunity to vote with the FRC and head coaches to determine the CFL All-Stars.
