Saputo: Impact Will Play In 2010
September 1, 2009 - USL First Division (USL-1)
Montreal Impact News Release
MONTREAL - Following the press release issued Monday by the Team Owners Association, expressing the group's discontent with the sale of USL to NuRock Soccer Holdings, a third-party which does not own a team in USL First Division, Montreal Impact President Joey Saputo presented the club's position during a press conference, Tuesday, at Saputo Stadium.
"I want to mention that the Montreal Impact will play in a high level professional league in 2010," specified Joey Saputo. "For almost four years now, the Team Owners Association is trying to acquire the league in order for us to gain control over our destiny, as it is done in all other leagues worldwide. I think that we have demonstrated our patience, but it has its limits. We are acting for the good of the league in the future. We will therefore study different options for the 2010 season."
