
San Jose's Grieb sets AFL single-season passing record

NEW YORK - San Jose SaberCats QB MARK GRIEB threw for 311 yards last night, setting a new Arena Football League record for single-season passing yards with 4,850. The previous mark, set by Grieb last season, was 4,769.
The SaberCats amassed 355 yards of offense and established a new AFL record for total offensive yards in a season with 5,075. They became the first team in AFL history to total more than 5,000 yards in a single season.
The Western Division winning SaberCats (10-6) earned a bye for the Wild Card Round of the playoffs and will host a Divisional Round game on either Saturday, May 27 or Sunday, May 28.
