San Diego Sunfire News Release

SAN DIEGO, CA (AFWL TICKER) - It's One against Two this weekend!! The First place SunFire travels to Long Beach, hoping to gain it's 5th straight win going against the Aftershock.

San Diego (4-0) handed Long Beach (3-1) its first defeat of the season just three weeks ago. The SunFire came back to beat the Aftershock after being down by 20 points in the fourth quarter. With just 7 seconds remaining, Defensive Back Athena Reyes intercepted a pass and scored to win the game for the SunFire, 34 to 28 the final.

The SunFire is fresh off a bye week - having beat the Titans by a resounding 42 to 6 in Glendale Arizona on October 12th. Kicker Sonja Baczynski was 6 for 6 in PAT's in the win.

Last Saturday night, Long Beach bounced back from its loss to the SunFire to shut out the Lasers in a 14 to zero win at Veteran's Memorial. The Aftershock now have a chance to gain a share of first place.

The SunFire is the only undefeated team in the league. A win for San Diego will virtually secure the top seed for the playoffs. A win for Long Beach will give the Aftershock a share of first place and keep it's first place hopes alive.

Game time 3:05p at Veteran's Memorial Stadium in Long Beach.
