San Antonio Spurs Assign Cory Joseph to NBA D-League Affiliate Austin Toros

NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2012 - The San Antonio Spurs assigned second-year guard Cory Joseph to the Austin Toros, the Spurs' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. This is the fourth career assignment for Joseph, and the ninth overall of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons.

Joseph (6-3, 185) returns to the Toros following three previous assignments last season. In his most recent stint he helped the Toros defeat the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the D-League Finals. In the playoffs, Joseph averaged 11.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.29 steals in 34.3 minutes.

Selected by the Spurs with the 29th overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft out of the University of Texas, Joseph has appeared in one game for San Antonio this season. In 29 games played in his rookie season, Joseph averaged 2.0 points for the Spurs.

Joseph will join the Toros for the team's training camp which started this past Monday in Austin. The Toros season tips off on Wednesday, Nov. 28 when the team visits the Texas Legends.
