Quotes:

Head Coach Alen Marcina

(On the loss...)

"I'm incredibly proud of the team, and support staff. We went toe to toe with one of the best MLS teams. Our guys performed fantastically, unfortunate to give up that one goal. More shots than the opponent, in their house. So I think if people don't know who SAFC is, I think if they watched that game they're well aware that we're a great team with great players and we're gonna make some noise this year."

(On the team's response to the loss...)

"These guys are ultra competitive, so they want to win every game - MLS opponent, USL opponent, doesn't matter. And that's why I'm so proud of them. Obviously they're disappointed, but they also felt they went toe to toe against a very very good team that put on some of their big guys, and it was a difficult place to play. Hats off to Nashville, they found a way to win. So all in all I think now it's about recovering, and all our focus is on Las Vegas."

(On Samuel Adeniran and Carter Manley making season debuts...)

"I think it's important to get guys minutes. You know, we're in season we don't have the luxury of preseason and getting games in that way. ... These are very very important players for us, difference makers. Obviously it's good with Sam [Adeniran], he knows our team identity. Sam is an absolute difference maker, so we're excited to have him in. Jorge [Hernandez] is fantastic, he's one of the best attacking playmakers in the league, and with more time he's gonna absolutely tear it up. And I was so happy to see Carter [Manley]. The amount of work he put in - he's been out for eight weeks. And he dominated his one vs one duel with one of the better attacking players in MLS. So proud of him, proud of the three, and it's only going to get better as they get fitter."

Forward Samuel Adeniran

(On making his season debut with SAFC...)

"I felt really good, it felt good to be back, back with some of the same guys as last year. I really enjoyed being able to help out the team in any way possible. Sad we couldn't get the win, but we move on to Saturday against Las Vegas."

(On the loss...)

"I think we had them. I honestly think we outplayed them. We had more shots on target than them, we pressed them a lot. We put them under a lot of pressure and I feel like we could've come out with more, should've come out with more but at the end of the day that's football, just gotta move on."

(On the team's mood...)

"Pissed. We really wanted more from the game, but hey we take that and we take that into Saturday. We take that anger, we take that drive into Saturday. So we've just got to focus on the next one, cant do anything about the past so you've just got to focus one what's next."

Midfielder Jacori Hayes

(On the performance...)

"I think it's a performance we can look back and be proud of. We gave them a lot to deal with, created a lot of good chances - just a little unfortunate on the night. So I think leaving here we can hold our heads up high that we performed well and did all our tasks, and put on a good performance against a quality side."

(On the team's attitude...)

"I think it's down in the moment, we're all competitive, we want to win these games. Every time we line up on the field we want to get the three points or in this case move on to the next round. But I think after tonight, maybe after tomorrow after recovery, ... we can take a lot of lessons, a lot of positives from this and go out and beat the mess out of Vegas."
