Quotes:

Head Coach Alen Marcina

(On the loss...)

"Disappointed, in the outcome. The performance was there. We had five times the amount of shots than our opponent, we made one critical error. Unfortunately the opponent capitalized on that one error. But other than that, we created a lot of opportunities. We understand we need to be more clinical, it's a part of the game. Our pressing actions were fantastic, we limit the opponent to one shot on target. It was one-way traffic. We were definitely the aggressors with and without the ball. Did more than enough to leave here with three points so that's the disappointing part - that we leave here empty handed. But it's an opportunity to learn and grow from."

(On moving onto next week...)

"The mentality monsters will be focused for the first session back. Their intensity, competitiveness will show in the first training back. We just understand as a collective that we did perform, so there's a lot of positives, just unfortunate result. Didn't go the way as we desired. But there's a lot of good things we did tonight, we'll continue to build on that, we'll learn and we'll grow and we'll be better for it."

(On training this week...)

"Consistency is a word that comes off the top of my head right now. And we've been consistent in our habits. Again, if you look at some of the goals we've conceded in this season, we've done fantastic in limiting opponents' opportunities which is what you ask for. It seems like one error, and the opponent has capitalized. Now, in my opinion, that's not sustainable. We have to continue to do what we've been doing. We're the number one pressing team in the league for a reason. We limit the opponents' opportunities and I believe we're number one in the league in terms of shot creation. So if we continue to do the right things, only good things can happen from it. Again, we have the opportunity tonight to learn, grow and get better."

Forward Justin Dhillon

(On the loss...)

"Obviously a disappointing result, ... some words were said in the locker room that I think are pretty accurate which is just - to be champions it's about consistency and when you come off a big result last weekend, and to come here and to not get a result ... there's a lot of work that still needs to be done. And I think everyone recognizes it, and now it's about learning from it, learning from what we did wrong and ways that we can move forward so that next week we can get the best chance at having success against New Mexico."

(On keeping the momentum moving forward...)

"I think like I said before it's about going back, rewatching what happened in the game - what we can learn from what we can build off of. I think every game there is some positives to take but there's definitely some clear areas that we need to improve if we're going to have the end goal which is to repeat titles. And that's all that's on the forefront of our minds so, the loss hurts and for us it's about coming into training and taking what we learned and honestly in my opinion we need to have the best week of training we've had all year. And bounce back and not forget the result, I think that's really important you know. To show that we can't just after a win be like 'ok this is our level' but we need to go into every game knowing that it's going to be a championship game and a fight and I think that's the mentality that we had last year - treating every game like a championship. So, I think that's one thing we've got to take into training this week."
