
Sam Gagner Named OHL Player of the Week

Toronto - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that London Knights' rookie forward Sam Gagner is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 15, 2006. Gagner, a native of Oakville, Ontario continued a torrid start to his OHL career, picking up 14 points in four games last week.
Gagner extended his streak of multiple point games to nine with four such games last week. He started his week off with two assists in a Thanksgiving Day road win over the Windsor Spitfires. He followed that up with a six point performance in the back half of a home and home series with the Spitfires when he scored two goals and added four assists in the contest.
Gagner helped the Knights stay undefeated for the week with back to back one goal and two assists performances on the weekend in games versus Plymouth and Kitchener. He also finished the week with a rating of plus six.
Gagner currently leads the OHL in scoring with seven goals and 24 assists for 31 points in nine games.
