Sam Cox leads the "Celtics South" as the Gwizzlies are being called

The ABA Gwinnett Gwizzlies are bring back recent shades and flashes of teams that played in old Boston Garden as they build their roster for the 2004-05 season.

Leading the charge is dunking and shooting sensation 6"8 Sam Cox. Gwizzlies owner Embry Malone says he had heard of Larry Bird from plaground ballplayers long before Bird had enrolled in any college. Guys in Kentucky always talk about up and coming ballplayers in Indiana since they were our cross the Ohio River state rivals, and we knew about Bird states the Gwizzlies owner.

Malone later enrolled at Pepperdine University and became the teammate of Dennis Johnson,now the Gwizzlies Team advisor and Bird teammate at the Boston Celtics. The Gwizzlies owner assures the team will have shades of the Boston Celtics of the 80's. Sam Cox will be joined with 7"4 John Flippen, 7"0 Ned Rolsma, 6"10 Peter Ludwig, 6"10 Bruce Zabukovec, 6"10 Chinwuga Agba, 6'8 Patrick Binon, 6"6 Jason Stewart,Eric Coates and Ian Hanovan, 6"3 Ardrell Hoard, Antoine Knighton and Brandan Peyton, and 5"10 Marcus Ward.
