Indiana Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice announced today that forward Jason Salvaggio has committed to playing college hockey at University of New Hampshire for the fall of 2014. UNH is an NCAA Division I member of the Hockey East Association (HE).

Joining the Ice in the second half of the season, Salvaggio made an immediate impact on the roster after spending most of the 12-13 campaign with the Selects Academy program at South Kent in Connecticut. In 59 games with Selects Academy, the Hanson, MA native put up a team leading 94 points (54G, 40A), and 11 points (5G, 6A) with the Ice in 17 contests.

His performance with both clubs earned him the 97th spot on the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings for the 2013 NHL Draft. Ice forwards Brian Pinho (109th) and Aidan Muir (108th) also join Salvaggio on the list along with former Ice players Adam Erne (26th) and Justin Bailey(38th).

Salvaggio becomes the fifth Iceman to join the Wildcats roster since Indy joined the USHL in 2004. Justin Agosta (09-10), Mike Beck (04-05), Casey DeSmith (09-11), and Kevin Goumas (09-10) have all moved on to Durham, New Hampshire after donning the Ice sweater. Other notable Wildcats alumni include Toronto Maple Leafs forward James Van Riemsdyk and former NHL All-Star defenseman Rod Langway.
