Sahlen's Stadium Hosts International Soccer Tournament on Friday

ROCHESTER, NY - Sahlen's Stadium will play host to an international soccer tournament on Friday afternoon, August 2nd, 2013. The six teams participating in the tournament will represent different local community groups living within the City of Rochester.

The six teams will be representing: Somali Community of Western New York, Nepal, Bhutan, East Africa/Congo, Somali Community Outreach, and Africa (Roc City Boys).

The goal of the event is to begin to achieve unification of the diversity that exists in local communities in the City of Rochester through the world's game.

"It's wonderful that diverse local communities have been able to find common ground in the game of soccer. We're excited to host such an altruistic event that's representative of the City of Rochester" Adirondack Sports Club, LLC President and Chief Operating Officer Pat Ercoli said. "The support for this event in the community has been really positive, and we're looking for this Friday's tournament to be a potential precursor to more community related events in the future."

The Rochester Rhinos would like to acknowledge the work of Bill Wischmeyer in organizing Friday's event as well as corporate donations from Champion Auto Sales, Ultimate Auto Spot, the law offices of Jacob Welch, and Linc Rochester in making this event possible.

3:30PM Nepal v. Somali Community of WNY

4:30PM East Africa v. Africa (Roc City Boys)

5:30PM Somali Community Outreach v. Bhutan

7:35PM Rochester Rhinos v. Dayton Dutch Lions
