Saginaw Sting Crush The Canton Cougars

Canton, OH - The Sting offense produced 76 points and pummeled the UIFL's signature franchise, Canton Cougars 76-47 in front of 1900 fans at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. The sting ensured a home playoff game with the victory and officials will convene this weekend to see where and when the City of Saginaw will host.

Sting quarterback Tommy Jones continues to put up amazing numbers as the offense is starting to really find a rhythm that is really giving opposing defenses a hard time. The Sting receiving core of LA Vaughn Macon, Andrew Beaver, Zac Nichols and Yvens Louis again this evening hauled in 300 plus yards of Jones' passes along with league record nine touchdowns. The Sting defense also found the end zone on a Marcus Hayes fumble recovery and forced four Canton turnovers in the lopsided victory. Hayes also had an interception while linebacker Phillip Smith led all tacklers with six tackles and recording one sack.

Saginaw stayed within one game of Northern Kentucky and guaranteed the city of Saginaw at least one home playoff game the first weekend of June.
