Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release

Wilmington, NC - The Wilmington Hammerheads are proud to announce a debut partnership with local burrito establishment Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn for the 2013 USL PRO regular season. The Hammerheads will welcome the Flaming Amy's Sacred Burrito Bus food truck to their Beer Garden space, better known as LandShark Landing, for each of their 14 regular season home games this year at Legion Stadium.

"We are real excited about this partnership," announced Jay Muxworthy, owner of the famed Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn. "The Hammerheads team and organization have been great supporters over the years of both our restaurants, [Flaming Amy's] Barn and Bowl. I believe this endeavor will prove advantageous for us both."

Carrying a good combination of Flaming Amy's burrito favorites, fans can enjoy the burrito of their choice from the Sacred Burrito Bus menu while watching the Hammerheads defend their home turf at Legion Stadium this upcoming season. Fans may even find Hammerheads Head Coach David Irving sitting and enjoying his Flaming Amy's favorite, the 'Thai Mee Up', as his pregame meal.

Muxworthy also conveyed his idea of developing a specialty Hammerheads burrito to add to the Sacred Burrito Bus menu. This currently unnamed burrito would reference characteristics of Hammerheads fans and would only be available for consumption on nights of Hammerheads home games while parked in Legion Stadium.

Flaming Amy's first introduced their rolling Sacred Burrito Bus to the Wilmington community in November 2012 during Wilmington's first ever TRUCK-a-ROO event at Riverfront Park in Downtown Wilmington alongside various other local food trucks. The Sacred Burrito Bus impressed food-goers alike and was voted People's Choice and Judge's Choice, since then having increasing success. Recently, Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn was voted Best Burrito and Best Food Truck by local voters in Encore Magazine's Best of Wilmington Awards.
