SaberCats Rich Ranglin Named Offensive Lineman of the Year

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Arena Football League and the San Jose SaberCats announced today that offensive lineman Rich Ranglin has been named the Spalding Offensive Lineman of the Year. This is the second time Ranglin has earned this distinction, as he also earned this award in 2011 with the Kansas City Command.
"We are very excited that Rich has earned this distinction," said Owner and Head Coach Darren Arbet. "He really improved this season catching the football, and his leadership was crucial for our team."
Ranglin (6-3, 315, Central Connecticut) earned the Spalding Offensive Lineman of the Year award for the second time. He was a steady fixture along an offensive line group that suffered injury setbacks during the course of the season, and yet, only allowed 20 sacks, the fifth least in the league. Ranglin also added a new dimension to the San Jose vertical attack, setting career highs with 16 catches for 284 yards and three touchdowns while appearing in all 18 games. His 17.8 yards per catch led the SaberCats receivers.
Last week, Ranglin also earned First-Team All-Arena honors, the fourth straight season he has been named to the AFL's First-Team offense.
