
SaberCats Grab Third Seed, Set to Battle Arizona in the Desert

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose SaberCats (12-6) announced today that they have locked up the National Conference's third seed and will travel to the desert to take on their bitter divisional rival, the Arizona Rattlers (13-5) in a first round playoff matchup. San Jose will battle the West Division champion Rattlers at the US Airways Center in Phoenix on Saturday, July 28 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
The SaberCats swept the regular season series with the Rattlers, winning in thrilling fashion in overtime, 71-70 in Week 1 in San Jose and 77-70 in Phoenix back in Week 9. The last playoff meeting between the two proud Arena Football League franchises saw San Jose come out on top, 62-48 in 2006.
