Bellingham Bells News Release
The Bellingham Bells are excited to announce Ryan Carlson will be the "Voice of the Bells" for the 2020 season. Carlson will provide play-by-play commentary for all 59 games during the summer.
Carlson travels north to the Pacific Northwest with two and a half years of collegiate play-by-play experience calling hockey, football, basketball and baseball at San Jose State University through the on-campus radio station, 90.5fm KSJS.
In addition to play-by-play duties at San Jose State, he engineers the home radio show for the San Jose Sharks and is a part of the Sharks media relations team.
"Ryan is a great fit for our organization," Bells general manager Stephanie Morrell said. "He's a talented broadcaster with a passion for connecting teams with their fan bases. The broadcaster plays a huge role within our team, and we are confident Bells fans will enjoy spending the summer listening to Ryan call the action."
Carlson manages the sports department of the San Jose State on-campus radio station and is the lead video editor for The Spear, a student-run sports publication covering all Spartan athletics.
Currently a junior at San Jose State University in the heart of Silicon Valley, Carlson is pursuing a degree in journalism and a career in sports media.
"Joining the Bells for the 2020 season will be an amazing experience," Carlson said. "I am most excited about getting to know the city and the fans of Bellingham, and bringing them all of the action, each and every game."
